Why do I paint? For the joy it gives me. Or for the sense of achievement and the satisfaction of producing a piece of art? Yes, all those things but above all it is to see the response on the viewers face when for a moment the painting stirs an emotion or brings back a memory from the past.

Watercolour is my favourite medium, although I do use inks and acrylics as well in my endeavour to portray God’s wonderful creation that exists around us.

After spending the last 47 years living on the land, the beauty of nature has left an indelible influence on my work. A sunset, a storm, a bird, a newborn calf or the weathered face of a farmer are all wonderful subjects to paint. For me it is a continuous road of discovery, the more I discover the more I realise there is more to be discovered. So, come along with me and enjoy the journey.
